There are over 4 million Yoruba people living in Ghana, most of whom are from Nigeria. According to historians, the first group of Yorubas arrived in the Gold Coast around 1813 and initially settled in such places as Accra, Kumasi and Sekondi before moving to the northern part of the Gold Coast, especially Tamale, Wa, Lawra and Nandom.
Her Majesty, Olori Wuraola, will also be meeting with Her Highness, Lordina Mahama, the first lady of Ghana to discuss partnership and trade efforts through her Queen of Ile-Ife Foundation whose mission is to better the lives of women in Nigeria and across Africa.
